The wedding was held at a five-star hotel Taj Krishna around 1:00 p.m. on April 12, 2010. as per Muslim religious traditions. The nikah (marriage) was done in the presence of a very selected gathering comprising only the family members of the sania mirza and shoaib malik

The nikah (Marriage) had to take place on April 15 but they both tied the wedding knot 3 days before, at a very private ceremony attended by their only close relatives and friends.
